Tom Watson made the headlines for his performance in rough weather at the British Open, not only taking the inclement weather in stride, but seeming to revel in it. With close to 40 years of experience, the 61-year-old Watson appeared to give the younger players in the tour a lesson in how to stay sharp in tough conditions.

In stark contrast to Watson, McIlroy commented, “I’m not a fan of golf tournaments that the outcome is predicted so much by the weather…It’s not my sort of golf.”
“These conditions I just don’t enjoy playing in really,” Rory said, “That’s the bottom line. I’d rather play when it’s 80 degrees and sunny and not much wind.” A candid comment certainly, but was it a prudent one? I would bet Watson would be a a little disappointed hearing that from the up and comer.
